Bringing middle eastern foods to Toowoomba

This is Saad.

A little over a year ago he opened Shengal Shopping - a grocer store with middle eastern foods and cookware- in Toowoomba city.

Business is going well, and refugees and immigrants from countries like Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan can now find familiar brands and flavors they enjoy to cook with.

When visiting Saad's store, we enjoyed a tasty peach nectar drink, and purchased some roasted sunflower seeds and flat breads. It's worth a visit if you're a local!

Well done to Saad for taking initiative to fill a gap in the community by starting a small business.
